Pretty Good Privacy

PGP was originally deployed as an e-mail encryption utility that reliad on a web of trust model for key management. User's keys would be signed by friends, and one would search for common friends to cerify the keys of new individuals with which one intended to communicate. More recent versions blend the original web of trust model, with certail well on authorities.
